Company Description Fowler Welch (Part of the Culina Group) operates in the fresh produce sector providing time critical logistics solutions for major retailers, growers and manufacturers across the UK. Our Spalding site has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Support Operator to join our friendly team on a full-time permanent basis. As the Transport Support Operator you will be responsible for the performance of the transport function in delivering an efficient, compliant and service-driven operation.

Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7pm-7am.

Salary: £24,550- £26,640 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Duties of a Transport Support Operator:

  • Despatching outbound drivers, ensuring that correct paperwork is issued, and that all instructions regarding collections and deliveries are clear and understood.
  • Monitoring of vehicle progress at all stages of its journey utilising appropriate systems of telephone.
  • Ensuring any delays or issues potentially affecting performance are escalated appropriately.
  • Utilise customer or retailer systems to ensure that bookings are made, amended, or progress updated as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving operational issues as appropriate, liaising with drivers, customers, delivery points or other stakeholders as required.
  • Collating and presenting KPIs or other operational information as directed to demonstrate performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal departments as required to ensure performance is optimised, including Warehouse, Finance, Fleet, KAMs.
  • Assist other operational departments as directed to ensure operational or legal compliance is to the highest standard.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office e.g. PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
