We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Operator to join our friendly team in Evesham on a full time permanent basis. As the Transport Operator you will be responsible for effectively managing vehicle utilization and ensuring drivers are given clear and precise instructions. Wednesday-Saturday, 19:30pm-7:30am.
Key Duties of a Transport Operator:
- Ensuring that all elements of the job are effectively communicated to drivers and sub-contractors.
- To plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agencies ensuring that all Company sites are fully considered when doing so.
- Liaising with planning team to optimise fleet/driver utilisation, identifying and resolving problems affecting delivery on time.
- Working with Compliance to ensure trucks are legal and information is downloaded in a timely manner.
- Conducting initial investigations into accidents or issues of driver performance and raising with Transport Supervisors and HR to ensure they are dealt with efficiently and consistently.
- Assist Supervisors in speaking to drivers about Virtual Risk Manager and improving driving style to improve FW MPG and overall safety and to ensure that costs are managed in accordance with the KPIs.
- Experience of working within a distribution / transport environment.
