We are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our busy vehicle preparation operation. Operating across 30 workshop ramps within one of the busiest used car operations in the region, this is an opportunity for a strong automotive leader to make a real impact in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll be responsible for leading teams, driving productivity, maintaining exceptional preparation standards, and ensuring every vehicle is retail-ready on time and to the highest quality.
The Role
As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of our workshop and vehicle preparation operation, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and operational excellence throughout.
- Lead, motivate and develop a large team of technicians, workshop controllers and support staff
- Manage workflow across 30 workshop ramps to maximise productivity and throughput
- Ensure all vehicles are prepared to company standards and delivered on time
- Monitor workshop KPI’s including efficiency, utilisation, quality and cost control
- Drive continuous improvement and operational best practice
- Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance
- Work closely with purchasing, sales and vehicle preparation teams
- Recruit, train and develop workshop personnel
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Workshop Manager, Service Manager or Senior Aftersales Manager
- Proven experience managing a high volume automotive workshop
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Strong understanding of workshop KPI’s and operational performance
- A hand-on, results driven approach
- Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Full UK driving licence
