Job Purpose
The role of a Payroll Trainee supports the wider Payroll Bureau by delivering comprehensive payrolls to Fourth customers. Working as part of a team, weekly and monthly payrolls will be processed accurately and on time. To be the first point of contact for payroll queries. This role provides a great career development opportunity for someone who would like to develop to become a Payroll Specialist or to move internally within our Fourth departments.
The role:
- Administer all payrolls within a set portfolio of customers, ensuring all employees are paid accurately, on time to achieve Bureau targets with the support of Payroll Trainers and the wider Bureau.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide customer service according to the Bureau service definition and Service Level Agreement.
- Ensure all data is received from the customer on time and all output is delivered to the customer in line with metrics and targets.
- Complete all aspects of payroll reconciliation including ensuring all payrolls balance at all times.
- Respond to customer telephone or email queries and take appropriate action.
- Highlight and escalate/respond to any issue which may affect the smooth running of customer payrolls.
- Ensure the customer payroll procedures manual is kept up to date with current processes.
- Send annual timetable communication regarding Easter, Christmas and start of year pay dates.
- Communicate quarterly surveys to customers.
The ideal candidate:
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- 2 years in an office environment.
- Educated to GCSE Level including Maths and English.
