Position Overview Based: Macclesfield - hybrid working - minimum 3 days in office. We are a rapidly expanding, US Private Equity backed, high-growth Software as a Service business based in Macclesfield. An exciting business with continuous growth plans for the next few years, this role reports into our Senior Commercial Manager providing a strong mentor and succession plan for future growth. The business is extremely well known for their flexible & supportive approach internally and externally and we are looking to find someone keen to enhance their career in this environment. This opportunity will allow you to build on your current knowledge whilst gaining a wider understanding of accounting and related commercial exposure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive, best in class, global revenue reporting by customer, product, segment and region.
- Analyse revenue trends, variances, and anomalies to provide insights and commentary to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with US accounting standards.
- Maintain closed loop global reporting of full customer life cycle from bookings, booking conversions through to revenue.
- Maintain the global backlog. Work closely with billing, deal desk, professional services and operations to ensure bookings convert into revenue in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed documentation of revenue processes and improvements made.
- Stay up to date and become subject expert with industry regulations and accounting standards related to revenue recognition under US and UK GAAP including the Standing Selling Price analysis.
- Maintain Day 7 revenue close and subsequent Day 8 board reporting deadlines.
- Oversight of royalty revenue relationships.
- This role will oversee the work of the Commercial Analyst.
Preferred Experience and/or Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
- Revenue experience ideal but not essential
- Commercial acumen with the ability to work with stakeholders
- Good understanding of accounting and reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Advanced excel skills desired.
- Experience with NetSuite and/or SalesForce would be preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
