General purpose of role: The Senior Project Designerâs role is to work alongside the Client Support Director to support them with creative design solutions, technical drawings as well as working on the companyâs Client Support projects. Will be client facing and be involved in every aspect from initial client brief until handover. Managing one direct report, the Client Support Junior Designer. Client support is a division of our Regions team that predominantly deals with our existing client base to develop those relationships. This role will involve all Client Support small works varying from ÂŁ500 - ÂŁ450K and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their design skills and gain experience through working on projects from start to finish.
Key Accountabilities:
- Working on projects from taking the initial brief, delivering and seeing the job through to completion.
- Working on several projects at any one time.
- Creating test fits, boards & presentation material.
- Amending drawings and creating GAâs.
- Producing visuals when developing designs in SketchUp.
- Strategize within the internal team on how to approach and win projects.
- Produce and present client pitches in a competitive environment.
- Carry out surveys of spaces/offices and place the information into DWG format.
- Creating presentations for client submission in Adobe InDesign.
- Assisting the team as required with technical and conceptual designs.
- Liaising with clients, M&E consultants, suppliers, internal team members and sub-contractors face to face and online.
- Assisting the Client Support Director as required.
- Managing the design workload within the team.
- Managing direct reports and supporting them.
Professional Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong aesthetic / good eye for design and detail.
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience of working for a D&B fit-out company or Design Consultancy.
- Proven track record of winning work in a competitive environment.
- Proficient users of AutoCAD and experience of producing detailed technical drawing packages.
- Good 3D Visualisation skills or a willingness to learn would be an advantage (SketchUp or similar).
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Ability to design to a budget.
- Photoshop to presentation standards as well as Microsoft Office.
- Driving licence and own car is a MUST.
