Residential Property | North West UK
Salary: up to £50,000 per year
If you want an easy ride, this probably isn't the place. But if you want to do your very best work, it just might be.
We're building a UK residential platform focused on homes and communities that work for real people, backed by the experience and scale of one of Europe's largest residential operators and shaped here with a clear sense of ownership and long-term responsibility. Our brand has just launched. We're growing fast and we're hiring the people who'll define how this business operates.
THE ROLE
This is the in-house legal lead for a portfolio of 2,000+ homes, predominantly single-family, operating across the UK. You'll work within a collaborative senior leadership team that values legal input and takes it seriously, alongside a Tribunal Claims Manager who handles the administrative burden of the claims process, freeing you to focus on strategy and governance.
The scope is genuinely broad. Housing and tenancy law sits at the core; possession strategy, tenancy documentation, notice procedures and the legislative framework that governs how we operate as a residential landlord. Alongside that, you'll be the business's lead on employment law matters, GDPR compliance and the day-to-day legal questions that arise in a fast-growing operational business. No two weeks look the same.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Housing and tenancy law across 2,000+ homes; tenancy agreements, possession strategy, Section 8 grounds, notice procedures and compliance with the Renters' Rights Act
- Tribunal strategy and case direction for First-tier Tribunal claims; instructing and managing external counsel where required
- Employment law support across the business; contracts, disciplinary processes, grievances and exits
- GDPR and data compliance; policies, training and ICO obligations
- Building the legal frameworks and infrastructure the business needs as it scales, with the full support of the leadership team behind you
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
Real scope, from day one. You'll be advising a senior team who value clear, practical legal thinking and give you the space to exercise it. The work spans housing law, employment, data protection and commercial matters, and you'll be close to decisions that carry genuine weight across all of them.
This is the kind of breadth and responsibility that most in-house legal roles take years to reach. We're offering it now, in a business that's genuinely invested in the people who help build it.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A qualified paralegal or legal executive with a strong housing and property law background, including solid knowledge of possession procedure and tenancy law
- Working knowledge of the Renters' Rights Act and its practical implications for a large residential operator
- Exposure to employment law and GDPR compliance in a business environment
- Experience working with or instructing external legal counsel
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-standards environment where their judgement is trusted and their breadth valued
- Commercially minded, decisive and calm under pressure
Our values are simple: stay grounded, use your judgement, own it and play the long game. All within a culture of high challenge and high support.
If this sounds like the role you've been looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
