A specialist consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Sustainability / Transition Consultant to join their growing team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of high-impact projects, working across portfolios, masterplans, and developments to shape long-term resilience and sustainability outcomes.

The role would suit someone with strong consultancy experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a background in architecture, engineering, surveying, or related disciplines.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop transition strategies for assets, portfolios, and masterplans, identifying the most effective interventions for each project.
  • Work closely with design teams, steering projects towards resilient and sustainable outcomes.
  • Carry out scenario testing across climate, energy, and social transitions and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Advise clients on planning, procurement, and insurance considerations linked to sustainability and transition requirements.
  • Oversee data analysis and reporting across multiple assets and projects.
  • Lead fee proposals, bids, and support wider business development activities.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team growth.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while representing the business externally.

Requirements

  • 15+ years’ experience delivering complex developments within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Chartered Architect, Engineer, Surveyor, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of development economics and financial drivers behind projects.
  • Proven track record delivering resilient, sustainable, and long-term project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership capability.
