Are you an experienced Senior Authorised Person with a strong background in high-voltage distribution networks? Looking to join a leading energy services provider on a key contract with UK Power Networks (UKPN)? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you!

As a Senior Authorised Person, you’ll play a crucial role in the planning and execution of system outages, ensuring that safety standards are met and projects run smoothly. You will be responsible for overseeing the safety of personnel working on high-voltage apparatus, managing technical operations, and ensuring compliance with UKPN Distribution Safety Rules.

Responsibilities of the SAP:

  • Provide expert technical support to project teams, ensuring safety and operational efficiency
  • Develop, implement, and manage safety documentation, liaising with outage planning teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Use PowerOn software to prepare switching schedules and coordinate outages
  • Issue permits, including Sanction for Test and Limitation of Access documents, and oversee high-voltage isolations and earthings
  • Monitor and maintain safety standards across sites, ensuring compliance with UKPN’s safety rules and regulations
  • Attend client progress and pre-start meetings, as well as client audits
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues on-site to ensure project milestones are met
  • Support the development of cost-effective build solutions from project concept to completion
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members, enhancing their technical knowledge and safety practices
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution

Criteria of the SAP:

  • Proven experience in high-voltage distribution network operations (11kV, 33kV, or 132kV)
  • Prior experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) within an established DNO Distribution Network
  • HNC or Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Full driving license is required
