Their portfolio includes private networks, IDNO and DNO interface projects, underground and overhead cabling, and EV charging infrastructure. Known for combining technical precision with compliance, they manage the full delivery lifecycle.
They are delivering major infrastructure projects across Scotland and are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of transmission overhead line (OHL) projects. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of OHL construction sites, typically ranging from 132kV to 400kV. You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and logistics, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with technical specifications and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities of the Site Manager:
- Leading on-site operations and managing teams to deliver transmission projects efficiently
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM standards
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Monitoring progress and escalating risks or delays to the Project Manager
- Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries, permits, inspections, and incident reports
- Coordinating with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement design changes
- Liaising with landowners, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure smooth site access and operations
- Overseeing quality control and supporting commissioning and handover activities
Criteria for the Site Manager:
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Construction Site Management or Engineering
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Proven experience managing high-voltage OHL construction sites
- Strong knowledge of transmission infrastructure, tower erection, stringing, and access planning
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., National Grid TP137, ENA) and environmental constraints
- First Aid, Manual Handling, and other relevant site certifications
- Full UK driving licence
