I'm currently working with a leading contractor delivering major HV and EHV infrastructure projects across the UK, and they're looking to add an experienced Senior Protection & Control Engineer to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on complex substation projects and wants to play a key role in shaping protection and control solutions across critical energy networks.

You'll be joining a highly skilled engineering environment where your technical expertise will directly influence the successful delivery of projects ranging from new-build substations through to network upgrades and reinforcement schemes. The role offers the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of projects covering 11kV to 132kV systems, including GIS and AIS substations, transformer installations, cable connections and associated control systems.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams while taking ownership of protection philosophies, relay coordination, fault studies and overall technical assurance.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in protection and control engineering for HV or EHV substations
  • Strong understanding of relay protection, coordination studies and fault level calculations
  • Experience with protection settings, SCADA systems, RTUs and associated communications
  • Ability to review and develop technical documentation, schematics and control philosophies
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with internal stakeholders, clients and external consultants
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
