Head of Asset Performance - solar

Location: Reading - hybrid working

Fourblue are working with a leading renewable energy business who are looking to appoint a Head of Asset Performance to join their O&M division. This is a senior role responsible for leading the performance management of an operational renewable energy portfolio, ensuring assets are performing against technical, contractual and financial targets. The role will take ownership of asset performance across availability, performance ratio and energy yield, while managing performance risk, contractual KPIs, guarantees and LD exposure.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Portfolio-wide asset performance management
  • Performance analysis using SCADA and monitoring platforms
  • Root cause analysis of underperformance
  • Development and delivery of improvement plans
  • Monthly performance reporting, dashboards and KPI tracking
  • Working closely with field operations, subcontractors, commercial teams and clients
  • Leading and developing the asset performance analyst function

Requirements:

  • Experience in asset performance, operations or engineering within renewable energy or a similar asset-intensive environment
  • Strong understanding of solar PV and/or BESS performance drivers
  • Experience managing performance against contractual KPIs, guarantees or availability targets
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting complex datasets
  • Experience using SCADA, monitoring platforms, Power BI, Excel or similar reporting tools
  • Commercial awareness, particularly around LD exposure and contractual performance obligations
  • Ability to translate performance data into practical operational actions
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical / analytical teams would be advantageous
