We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee high-voltage (HV) power installation projects, with a focus on renewable energy projects, including 132kV systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) on renewable energy projects across the UK.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of HV connection projects, from planning through to successful completion. You will coordinate with clients, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs), subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards and regulations. This includes overseeing the installation of cables, jointing, testing, and commissioning processes, as well as mitigating risks throughout the project.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of high-voltage (132kV) connection projects with a focus on renewable energy, particularly solar farm connections
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and site teams, ensuring projects are completed within scope, on time, and on budget
- Ensure full compliance with the Network Entry Requirements (NERs), CDM regulations, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines
- Coordinate with DNOs, IDNOs, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
- Oversee the installation of HV cables, jointing, and the commissioning process
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure minimal disruption and safe working conditions
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to site teams, ensuring the highest standards of work quality
- Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and resolving any issues promptly
- Prepare and manage project documentation, reports, and forecasts
Criteria for the Project Manager:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager on HV projects, particularly with 33kV and 132kV systems
- Strong understanding of the installation, jointing, testing, and commissioning processes for HV networks
- Solid knowledge of regulatory standards, including NERs, CDM, and HSE regulations
- Experience in renewable energy projects (e.g., solar farms) is highly desirable
- Full UK driving license (due to travel to sites as required)
