Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to lead environmental assessments and provide technical guidance across major highways and infrastructure projects. You will oversee Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), support planning and compliance, and work closely with engineers, project managers, regulators and clients. Responsibilities include developing carbon reduction and biodiversity initiatives, managing project budgets and programmes, coordinating stakeholders and supporting the development of the environmental consultancy team.
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Chartered Environmentalist status or equivalent accreditation.
- Strong consultancy experience within highways, construction or infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of EIA processes, environmental assessments and planning legislation.
- Experience delivering environmental consents and supporting carbon reduction, biodiversity and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent report writing, technical review and project management skills.
- Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
