Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join a major data centre project in London. This is a hands-on, site-based role responsible for inspecting mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and project specifications, and maintaining quality standards throughout construction. You will manage inspection and test plans, oversee pressure testing and system checks, resolve defects and non-conformances, and work closely with construction and commissioning teams to ensure mechanical systems are fully quality-approved and ready for commissioning and handover.
Requirements
- Experience as a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Supervisor on major construction projects.
- Data centre or mission-critical project experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, HVAC, pipework and critical cooling systems.
- Experience managing inspection and test plans, test packs, NCRs and quality documentation.
- Understanding of pressure testing, flushing, chemical treatment and commissioning readiness.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and coordinated BIM information.
- Knowledge of relevant UK standards and mechanical installation requirements.
- Strong communication, organisation and subcontractor management skills.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or building services qualification preferred.
- Appropriate CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS and QA/QC qualifications advantageous.
