The Role

You’ll be at the forefront of site operations—supervising field teams, supporting cable installers and jointers, and overseeing substation commissioning activities. From witnessing testing to ensuring projects run smoothly, your expertise will directly impact successful project delivery. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and network operators, you’ll coordinate multiple workstreams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Supervisor/Manager:

  • Leading and supporting LV/HV cable laying and jointing works
  • Supervising substation commissioning, testing, and pre-energisation activities
  • Ensuring all work meets industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
  • Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities across multiple projects
  • Acting as the key link between clients, project teams, and network operators
  • Reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and technical documentation
  • Monitoring progress, resolving on-site challenges, and keeping projects on track
  • Championing a strong safety culture across all activities

Criteria for the Electrical Supervisor/Manager:

  • Proven experience in LV–11kV projects within an ICP or DNO environment
  • Background as an LV or HV Cable Jointer, with progression into supervision
  • Strong understanding of DNO procedures, safety rules, and working practices
  • Experience managing subcontractors and delivering complex infrastructure projects
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach to site challenges and safety

Essential Qualifications

  • DNO or ICP authorisations
  • Competence in LV or 11kV testing
  • SHEA Power First Aid certification
