This is an opportunity to join a growing programme of work supporting critical electrical infrastructure across London, Kent and Sussex for UK Power Networks. You’ll be part of a team delivering essential upgrades and installations within substations and live network environments helping to keep homes, businesses and communities powered safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Fitter:

  • Installing containment systems such as cable tray, trunking, conduit and ladder rack within new and existing substations
  • Fitting and wiring LV distribution equipment including panels, boards and associated systems
  • Installing and connecting secondary systems such as lighting, small power isolators and control equipment
  • Pulling, glanding and terminating SWA cables across a range of sizes
  • Supporting testing, inspection and commissioning activities
  • Assisting with HV works alongside experienced teams when required
  • Fault finding and carrying out repair or refurbishment work on electrical equipment
  • Completing site documentation and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

Criteria of the Electrical Fitter:

  • A time served electrician with experience in industrial utilities, rail or heavy engineering environments
  • Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent
  • ECS Gold Card and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Ideally at least five years’ hands on experience in relevant sectors
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • A proactive approach with strong teamwork and problem solving skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
