Sustainability Consultant / Senior Consultant
London – Hybrid

We are looking for a motivated Sustainability Consultant to join a growing team, working on a range of projects across the built environment, with a particular focus on Whole Life Carbon, Circular Economy and BREEAM.

This opportunity would suit a Junior Consultant ready to take the next step in their career, an established Consultant looking to broaden their technical experience, or someone approaching Senior Consultant level who is keen to progress within the next 12 months.

The role is hands-on and technically focused, combining day-to-day carbon modelling and assessments with client engagement, design reviews and sustainability advice throughout the planning and development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Whole Life Carbon and embodied carbon assessments, modelling and analysis
  • Develop Circular Economy strategies and support BREEAM assessments
  • Prepare sustainability statements, Circular Economy statements and technical reports to support planning applications
  • Review design options and advise project teams on opportunities to reduce carbon and improve sustainability performance
  • Attend and lead client meetings, sustainability workshops and design team discussions
  • Work closely with developers, architects, engineers and wider project teams to integrate sustainability into development projects
  • Manage individual workstreams or projects, depending on experience, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a sustainability consultancy or similar role within the built environment
  • Strong understanding of Whole Life Carbon, embodied carbon and Circular Economy principles
  • Broader sustainability knowledge, particularly BREEAM and the planning process, would be highly desirable
  • Comfortable undertaking hands-on carbon modelling, reviewing design options and producing technical reports
  • Confident communicating with clients, attending meetings and working alongside multidisciplinary design teams
  • Experience preparing sustainability reports or supporting planning applications
  • Knowledge of NABERS, Passivhaus or the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard would be beneficial
  • BREEAM Assessor/AP or relevant carbon assessment qualifications would be advantageous

Career Development
The team is open to different levels of experience, with opportunities for a Junior Consultant to step into a Consultant position or for an established Consultant to develop towards Senior Consultant level within the next year.

The ideal individual will be technically capable, proactive and keen to take ownership of their work while continuing to develop their expertise across sustainability, carbon and the wider built environment.
