Commercial Manager Wales/South West – Hybrid working £95,000 + car/car allowance

This position sits within a transmission and renewables delivery team, working on National Grid substation projects and high-voltage infrastructure up to 400kV. The role is based from the home with regular site visits across Wales and the South West of England.
Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager:- Taking full ownership of the commercial function across a portfolio of regional projects and tenders
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies in partnership with operational leadership
- Leading and mentoring commercial teams to improve capability, performance and engagement
- Managing tender reviews, risk and opportunity, CVRs and accurate progress reporting
- Working closely with finance and project teams to optimise forecasting, cashflow and business planning
- Building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners, supporting dispute resolution
- Overseeing procurement activity and ensuring contractual compliance
- Driving continuous improvement in regional commercial performance through innovation and best practice
- Significant experience in a senior commercial role within infrastructure, ideally with National Grid or similar high-voltage projects
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts, with experience of JCT and FIDIC forms
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence reviewing and agreeing contract terms
- A solid understanding of programme management and project controls
- Proven experience leading, developing and motivating teams
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
