Fourblue are working on behalf of a leading property developer who is passionate about creating high-quality, sustainable homes and vibrant communities. With a reputation for tackling some of the most complex and exciting projects in the sector, they’re looking for a Buyer to join their team and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.
As Buyer, you’ll be responsible for procuring construction materials and plant across a portfolio of regional developments. Your role is central to ensuring projects run smoothly, with materials sourced on time, to specification, and at best value.
You’ll work closely with technical, commercial, and site teams, as well as directly with suppliers, to keep everything on track. From preparing enquiries and negotiating orders, to resolving supply issues and producing cost reports, this is a role where your eye for detail and ability to build strong relationships will make a real impact.
Responsibilities of the Buyer:
- Managing procurement schedules and ensuring deadlines are met
- Sourcing, comparing and negotiating supplier quotes to achieve value for money
- Preparing and placing orders, including drawing/schedule approvals
- Producing material budgets and cost reports for review with senior management
- Attending site and project meetings to support delivery teams
- Working with suppliers and technical colleagues to resolve issues and ensure material specifications are met
- Supporting value engineering through material reviews
Criteria of the Buyer:
We’re looking for someone with experience in the construction supply chain, ideally within residential or mixed-use developments. You’ll be confident interpreting technical drawings, highly IT literate (Excel in particular), and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
