Site Manager – Steel Frame – Data Centre
Experience on data centres, pharmaceutical, cleanroom or other complex/critical infrastructure projects is a must.
Location: Blyth, Northumberland
Rotation: Monday–Friday, or 10/4 for candidates based 3+ hours away
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager – Steel Frame to join a major data centre development in Blyth, Northumberland.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day structural steel installation works on site.
- Supervise steelwork subcontractors, operatives and site activities.
- Coordinate steel works with concrete, cladding, roofing, MEP and other CSA packages.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
- Manage site logistics, deliveries, craneage, lifting operations and access requirements.
- Review and enforce RAMS, lifting plans and safe systems of work.
- Monitor subcontractor progress, productivity and manpower.
- Carry out inspections, quality checks and manage snagging and defects.
- Coordinate with Package Managers, Engineers and the wider construction team.
- Identify site issues and programme risks, escalating and resolving where required.
- Maintain strong health, safety and quality standards across the steel package.
Experience Required
- 5+ years' experience as a Site Manager, Steel Site Manager, Construction Manager or similar.
- Main contractor background preferred.
- Experience on data centres, pharmaceutical, cleanroom or other complex/critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong subcontractor and site management experience.
- Good understanding of steel erection, lifting operations and construction sequencing.
- HND / Degree preferred, or significant industry experience having progressed from a trade background.
- UK or Irish passport required.
Rotation
- Monday–Friday if local.
- Candidates based more than approximately three hours from site can work a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.
- Travel and hotel accommodation provided for the 10/4 rotation, plus a nightly food allowance.
