The website sits at the heart of the business, supporting complex customer journeys and high-value transactions. Significant investment is being made into the ongoing development of the platform, with a strong focus on enhancing visual quality, usability and overall brand presentation. This is a UI-first role with strong UX foundations, ideal for a designer who enjoys hands-on visual design while applying structured UX thinking to create clean, intuitive and high-performing digital experiences.

The Role

  • Working closely with development and marketing teams, you will lead the visual direction of the website, modernising and refining its look and feel while ensuring outstanding usability and performance.
  • Alongside core website design, you'll also support wider design needs across marketing and brand assets.
  • Designing and improving website components, page layouts and user flows.
  • Owning and evolving the visual direction of the website.
  • Creating modern, clean and engaging UI designs.
  • Supporting front-end development with an understanding of responsive design and CSS principles.
  • Building consistency through reusable components and patterns.
  • Supporting wider design needs such as email layouts, campaign visuals and hero imagery.
  • Working within brand guidelines while helping to elevate overall visual standards.
  • Taking ownership of design quality and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years' experience in UX/UI design, with a strong emphasis on visual/UI design.
  • A high-quality portfolio showcasing modern web design (essential).
  • Experience designing for responsive, mobile-first websites.
  • Ability to balance aesthetics with usability and performance.
  • Comfortable collaborating with developers (HTML/CSS knowledge beneficial).
  • Clear communication skills and confidence explaining design decisions.
  • Experience working with or contributing to a design system.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • An interest in branding and visual identity development.
  • UK-based remote or office-based working.
  • Strong emphasis on quality, consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Practical and pragmatic approach to design and development.

Interview Process

Applicants will be asked to provide a portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking and UI execution. As part of the interview process, candidates will also complete a short, time-boxed design task focused on redesigning a specific section of the website.

Have genuine ownership and influence over design direction. Join a growing digital and technology function. Make a measurable impact on brand presentation and user experience.
