We are supporting a well-established business based in Birmingham who is looking to recruit an Accounts Administrator to join its head office finance team. This is a varied role that will support day-to-day finance operations while also providing assistance to payroll activities.
This position would suit someone with previous accounts administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities- Processing and posting purchase invoices, ensuring all documentation is correctly matched and recorded.
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries.
- Posting bank transactions, employee expenses and company card expenditure.
- Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting month-end finance processes and reporting activities.
- Preparing payment runs for approval.
- Liaising with internal departments to resolve financial and invoice-related issues.
- Assisting with payroll processing and responding to payroll queries.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance function as required.
- Previous experience within an accounts, finance administration or bookkeeping role.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Exposure to payroll administration.
- Experience with accounting software (any accountancy package considered).
- AAT studies or qualification would be advantageous.
