Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with a proven track record in high-end residential projects. This is a hybrid role combining office-based estimating with regular site engagement to ensure accurate understanding of project scope and buildability. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed quantity take-offs, analysing drawings and specifications, producing accurate cost plans, and supporting the commercial and operational teams during tender and pre-construction stages. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates align with programme, quality expectations, and budget targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for luxury residential projects
  • Produce accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Analyse project risks, buildability, and cost drivers
  • Liaise with designers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers for pricing and technical input
  • Support value engineering while maintaining design intent and quality standards
  • Assist with procurement strategy during pre-construction phases
  • Maintain strong cost databases and benchmarking for high-end finishes and specialist trades
  • Contribute to commercial decision-making and budgeting strategies

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Estimator working on high-end residential or luxury refurbishment projects
  • Strong background in construction estimating, cost planning, and quantity take-offs
  • Excellent understanding of premium materials, bespoke joinery, heritage works, and specialist packages
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
