The role: As Overnight Hotel Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the overnight operation of the hotel, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and smooth running of all Front Office functions. Acting as one of the senior leaders on property during the night, you will oversee guest arrivals and departures, manage operational challenges, support the overnight team, and ensure service standards remain consistently high. You will also participate in the hotel's Duty Manager programme and play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This role requires strong leadership, excellent decision making skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional while managing a dynamic luxury hospitality operation.
What you will do:
- Lead and support the overnight Front Office operation, including Reception, Guest Services, Concierge, and Communications
- Ensure a seamless and personalised arrival and departure experience for all guests
- Act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns, service recovery, and operational escalations
- Support and coach overnight team members, driving engagement and performance
- Ensure accurate completion of overnight procedures and operational reports
- Maintain strong communication between overnight and daytime teams through detailed handovers
- Work closely with all departments to ensure guest requests and operational priorities are managed efficiently
- Maintain health, safety, security, and emergency procedures throughout the hotel
- Act as the senior manager on duty when required and represent hotel leadership during overnight operations
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management Front Office role within a luxury hotel environment
- Strong Front Office knowledge with an understanding of wider hotel operations
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Exceptional guest service and problem solving abilities
- Strong communication skills with fluent spoken and written English
- Ability to make decisions confidently and effectively in a fast paced environment
- Professional presentation and a genuine passion for hospitality
- Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel management systems is advantageous
- Right to Work in the UK
What to expect:
- Primarily an overnight position
- Four shifts per week on a 4 on, 3 off rotation
- Shift pattern of 9.30pm to 8.00am
