About the role: We’re seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Equestrian Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equestrian professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our equestrian centre, ensuring the highest standards of horse welfare, customer experience, and operational excellence. You’ll lead and motivate a small team, oversee riding activities and facilities, and act as an ambassador for equestrian excellence, delivering safe, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for all guests and members.

What you will do:

  • Manage the daily operation of the equestrian centre, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient running
  • Oversee the care, welfare, and fitness of all horses and ponies, ensuring best practice at all times
  • Plan and deliver riding activities, lessons, hacking, and events to suit a range of abilities
  • Lead, train, and supervise equestrian staff, instructors, and yard assistants
  • Ensure all health, safety, safeguarding, and animal welfare standards are met and maintained
  • Carry out yard duties including stable management, turnout, feeding, tack care, and facility upkeep
  • Manage rotas, holiday cover, and staffing levels to meet operational needs
  • Liaise with guests, members, and other departments to deliver a high-quality customer experience
  • Maintain riding school standards, risk assessments, and relevant documentation
  • Support budgeting, stock control, and supplier liaison as required

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience working within an equestrian environment in a supervisory or management role
  • Relevant equestrian qualifications (e.g. BHS Stage qualifications or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of horse care, stable management, and equestrian health & safety
  • Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
  • A professional, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends and variable hours in line with equestrian operations
  • Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • A genuine passion for horse welfare and outstanding guest experiences
