The Senior Sous Chef Role
The Senior Sous Chef plays a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations. Responsibilities include ensuring consistent, high-quality food preparation and presentation, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and overseeing the work of the kitchen team. The role involves managing inventory, controlling food costs, adhering to health and safety regulations, and assisting in menu development. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment are key requirements.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations across all outlets and banqueting.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
- Supervise and mentor the culinary brigade, fostering a collaborative and high-performing kitchen culture.
- Oversee ordering, inventory management, and control of food costs.
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal updates.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, health, and safety across all kitchen areas.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and workspaces are well-maintained and compliant with standards.
- Act as Head Chef in their absence, taking full operational responsibility.
