As a Back of House Engineer, you will focus on the maintenance and operation of key plant and equipment across the hotel’s back of house areas. You will ensure systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in line with Four Seasons standards, supporting both the practical operation of the hotel and the comfort of our guests. This is a hands-on role requiring technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider Engineering team.

What you will do:

  • Maintain and monitor pumps, valves, and expansion vessels
  • Support operation and maintenance of HVAC systems and air handling units
  • Work with the Building Management System to monitor and optimise performance
  • Maintain water systems and ensure awareness of Legionella control procedures
  • Support the operation and maintenance of laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and pressing systems
  • Monitor and manage dosing systems and associated chemicals safely
  • Identify faults, carry out repairs, and elevate issues where required
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and engineering standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and checks
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes across back of house systems
  • Ensure all plant rooms and equipment are kept in fully functioning condition, and regular housekeeping is carried out on all units and areas.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualification in either Electrical or Plumbing
  • Gas Safe Certification
  • Previous experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and back of house plant equipment
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems and building services
  • Awareness of water systems and safety standards
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out practical repairs
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety focused approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
