About the role: We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Sous Chef to join our main kitchen team. This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to manage the daily operations of a busy and dynamic pastry section. You will oversee the preparation and production of all pastry and dessert items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and special events, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and inspire the pastry team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
- Oversee the production of all pastry items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and bespoke events
- Maintain consistency in quality, taste, and presentation across all offerings
- Support menu development and contribute innovative ideas for seasonal and signature creations
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with training and development of junior team members
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations
What you bring:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel.
- Exceptional technical skills in pastry and dessert preparation
- A passion for creativity and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of hotel amenities
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
