A well-established and respected professional services firm is seeking a Legal Cashier to join its Finance team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative and supportive environment that values professionalism, accuracy and career development.
Working as part of a busy Finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of the firm's financial processes. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily banking activities, including transfers, reconciliations, and client-to-office transactions
- Preparing and processing electronic payments including CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments
- Completing timely and accurate reconciliations for client and office accounts
- Reconciling client ledgers and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Managing petty cash processes and maintaining accurate financial records
- Raising and processing client invoices and supporting sales ledger activities
- Posting and processing client and office transactions accurately
- Allocating incoming payments and resolving account discrepancies
- Responding professionally to finance-related queries from clients and stakeholders
- Assisting with month-end and year-end finance procedures
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with financial procedures and regulatory requirements
- Keeping detailed and accurate records across all relevant systems
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier, with some knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of accounting processes
- Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commercial awareness and a professional approach
- Interest in long-term progression and development
