We're recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join a well-established company based in Bolton. This is a key position within the HR & Payroll team, focused on managing weekly payroll operations. You will take ownership of the weekly payroll process, ensuring it's delivered on time and with a high level of precision.
The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, a proactive approach and a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities include:- Process weekly payroll using various software packages, including Sage Payroll 50
- Produce monthly salaried payroll when required to provide cover
- Administer all payroll changes, including processing of company benefits, sick pay, holidays, and attachments of earnings
- Ensure all statutory deductions are correctly accounted for
- Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts monthly and support cost allocation through payroll journals (weekly and monthly)
- Assist with HMRC reporting at month-end and year-end
- Provide payroll data and reports for financial audits and internal use
- Issue weekly payroll-related reports as required
- Manage the payroll email inbox and act as the first point of contact for payroll queries
- Proven experience in a similar payroll role, ideally with weekly payroll and blue-collar workforce exposure.
