We are working with a small, friendly finance team seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join on a part-time basis (approx. 20 hours/week). This is a flexible role where you can set your preferred days and hours, with the requirement to cover all or part of Monday and Tuesday to support payroll processing.

The Role: As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments, including:

  • Posting and reconciling daily cash, BACS, and cheque receipts.
  • Confirming and preparing sales invoices, including manual entries where required.
  • Chasing overdue invoices and accelerating formal collections in line with company policy.
  • Managing customer accounts, applying for credit insurance, and performing regular credit reviews.
  • Responding to queries, sending invoices/credits, and maintaining accurate customer records.
  • Supporting payroll via portal data input, ensuring timely sign-off.
  • Providing cover for other finance team members and assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.

About You: Proven credit control experience, ideally in a small team environment. Confident communicator at all levels, both face-to-face and over the phone. Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise autonomously. Tenacious with the ability to hold difficult conversations professionally.

Salary & Benefits: £27,000-£30,000 pro-rata (based on 37.5hrs/week). Medical cover from month one. Enhanced holiday entitlement (22 days + bank holidays based on a 5-day week).
