We’re working with a growing engineering-led business supporting complex, project-based delivery across the UK and beyond. As the business continues to scale, they are looking to hire three Project Controllers at varying levels to strengthen commercial and financial oversight across their project portfolio (salary range from £30k - £42k). This is a role that sits at the intersection of finance, commercial and project delivery — focused on ensuring projects are financially controlled, commercially sound, and ultimately deliver the profit and cash they are expected to.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the financial performance of projects from handover through to completion — working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track financially and commercially. This includes:
- Monitoring project costs, revenue and profitability
- Producing forecasts and tracking performance against budget
- Managing cashflow, invoicing and payment applications
- Ensuring projects align with contractual terms and milestones
- Identifying risks, challenges and opportunities early
- Supporting conversations around project performance and outcomes
At a more senior level, there will be greater involvement in leading project reviews, influencing stakeholders and driving commercial decisions.
About You
This role could suit someone from a range of backgrounds, including:
- Project finance / project accounting
- Commercial or cost management
- Quantity surveying or commercial roles
- Project management with strong financial awareness
You’ll likely have:
- Experience working in a project-based environment (e.g. engineering, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing)
- An understanding of cost control, forecasting and financial performance
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
- The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, commercially minded approach
