We are seeking an exceptional Chief People Officer (CPO) to join the Board as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, in a high growth, tech-driven financial services business, based in the North West. This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded people leader who can operate at both strategic and operational levels—shaping the future of the organisation while remaining close to the detail. You will lead and evolve the people function to support continued growth, scalability, and performance, ensuring the business remains agile, data-driven and people-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering an innovative people strategy
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Board, aligning people strategy with business objectives
  • Leading the HR team, driving performance and capability
  • Shaping and embedding a high-performance, values led culture
  • Partnering with the Board and senior leaders to define what great leadership looks like, building capability through coaching, frameworks and setting clear expectations
  • Designing a reward strategy that attracts, motivates and retains talent
  • Developing a pragmatic and measurable EDI strategy that enhances diversity of thought, supports fairness, and reflects the communities in which the business operates
  • Building robust talent pipelines to support current operations and future growth
  • Creating a scalable learning strategy that builds capability across the organisation
  • Leading strategic workforce planning to ensure the organisation is structured effectively for growth, balancing cost, capability and location strategy
  • Ensuring all people practices align with regulatory requirements and best practice, particularly within a partially regulated environment
  • Leveraging technology and AI to modernise the people function, improve efficiency and provide actionable insights
  • Drive a data-led approach to people decisions and organisational performance
  • Support international growth

This role will suit a proven HR leader who thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurially run environments.

Essential experience:

  • Significant experience at HR Director / CPO level (not a first-time step-up role)
  • Background in scaling or high-growth businesses
  • Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven mindset
  • Ability to operate both strategically and operationally
