Job Description
I am currently supporting a client of mine based in the Burnley area with their recruitment of a proactive and motivated SHEQ Advisor. In this role you will support the ongoing development of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within SHEQ and gain broader experience across health & safety, environmental management, quality and compliance in a manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Operations team you'll help ensure the people, processes and working environment remain safe, compliant and continually improving.
You'll be a visible presence across the business, providing practical advice, supporting audits and inspections, investigating incidents and helping colleagues understand and apply SHEQ requirements in their day-to-day roles.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ policies, procedures and processesCarrying out workplace inspections and supporting risk assessments, identifying hazards and recommending practical improvementsSupporting the management of contractor and supplier SHEQ requirementsProviding advice and guidance to colleagues on safe working practices and SHEQ proceduresSupporting the delivery of SHEQ training and awareness activitiesAssisting with investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, helping identify root causes and corrective actionsSupporting the ongoing management of the company's integrated management systems, including various ISO accreditationsSupporting internal and external audits and ensuring actions are followed through to completionMaintaining accurate SHEQ records, documentation and compliance informationCollecting and analysing SHEQ data and helping identify trends and opportunities for improvementSupporting environmental monitoring and sustainability initiativesAssisting with customer, retailer and certification audits and responding to technical or compliance enquiries where requiredWorking collaboratively with Production, Procurement, Sales and other teams to promote a positive SHEQ cultureSupporting the SHEQ Manager with continuous improvement projects and other SHEQ initiativesThe ideal candidate for this role is someone that has exposure working in a SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Compliance role, someone who is practical, curious and proactive.
