The Design Technician is responsible for communicating project solutions through the production of drawings, working as the design support between divisions and the client to ensure projects are produced in line with manufacturing capabilities and client expectations.
The Person:
- Previous experience in a similar role, with the ability to understand and interpret architectural details, specifications, standards and Compliance Documentation.
- Qualification OND Mechanical Design or Equivalent in Architecture.
- Extensive experience using AutoCad or Revit.
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach to work.
- Ability to fiercely prioritise - multitask effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills; can build relationships with ease.
- Demonstrated the ability to respectfully influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Has a 'roll your sleeves up' approach to work - will never shy away from challenge.
- Respects the views of others – seeking out different opinions where possible.
Responsibilities:
- Work as the design support between divisions, Engineering and the client to ensure new products are produced in line with manufacturing capabilities and client's expectations.
- Involvement could vary from initial proposal and specification to full project delivery.
- Review proposal requests via Salesforce and collaborate with the relevant Sales team to identify requirements.
- Produce proposal documents.
- Produce and assist in the production of approval/shop drawings for awarded projects.
- Produce and assist in the production of material take offs for awarded projects.
- Assist in the production of material schedules for estimates on potential projects.
- Work closely with Modellers and Design Lead to ensure the design drawings and models created match not only the design intent but each other.
- Provide after-sales design support as required.
- Also providing technical support relating to the final use and specification of products.
