Responsibilities
As an Assistant Financial Controller you will prepare monthly management accounts, manage sales ledgers, participate in the hotel forecasting process and hotel budget processes, supporting the forecast of payroll and expenses as well as reviewing and challenging the revenue forecast as appropriate. You will monitor bank transactions as well as attend meetings as required.
Qualifications
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field would be beneficial however not essential.
- A strong understanding of financial analysis, including the ability to analyse financial data and prepare detailed financial reports, enabling you to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform decision‑making.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders, while also being able to collaborate with other departments and provide guidance to staff members.
- Strong leadership and management skills, able to lead a team of financial professionals, set financial goals and objectives, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Comfortable with providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team and the wider head of departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems, with the ability to create, analyse, and present data effectively to support decision‑making and reporting.
- A proactive and analytical mindset, with a genuine interest in improving processes and supporting the hotel's operational success.
