About the Role
Four Agency Worldwide is looking for an inspiring, commercially sharp and creatively fearless Account Director to help lead some of the most exciting work happening across the UK and global cultural landscape. You will sit at the heart of Four’s world‑class culture, creative industries and placemaking offer, directing teams, shaping strategy, generating ideas and guiding clients through transformational programmes. You’ll bring energy, curiosity and precision to projects spanning globally renowned cultural institutions and prizes, emerging creative sectors, major destinations and transformative placemaking initiatives. You’ll be joining a fast‑paced, growth-focussed, collaborative team across multiple locations and services internationally. This is the opportunity to work at the intersection of creativity, strategy and community impact, while pushing boundaries to deliver work that is culturally resonant and sector‑leading. At Four, we hire people who can grow skills, client relationships and careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Client Counsel & Leadership: Set and manage client expectations across major consumer and cultural accounts. Act as the trusted senior adviser, understanding sector dynamics, anticipating client needs and crafting solutions grounded in cultural insight and commercial awareness. Build and leverage a strong network of sector‑relevant contacts to unlock opportunities, inform thinking and elevate client work. Serve as the main point of contact for programme strategy, planning and budget oversight.
- Creative & Cultural Insight: Demonstrate creativity and problem‑solving flair, generating ideas that cut through noise and create impact in cultural, creative and placemaking environments. Keep abreast of media, cultural and creative‑sector trends, translating them into meaningful, actionable direction for clients.
- Team Leadership & Development: Motivate, mentor and empower account teams to produce high‑quality, on‑time, on‑budget work that exceeds expectations. Lead with clarity, briefing effectively, providing timely and constructive feedback, and supporting team development and growth. Participate in team management and contribute to building a high‑performing, passionate, creatively‑minded team.
- Media Relations & Thought Leadership: Bring strong media intelligence and sector‑specific insight to guide narrative development and earned‑media strategy. Build and nurture excellent media relationships, ensuring clients’ work reaches the right audiences in arts, culture, public realm, and policy spaces.
- Business Growth & Opportunity Development: Drive new business - leading proposals, shaping pitches and representing Four across the cultural and creative industries. Identify and develop opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts, including cross‑selling across practices. Represent Four at industry events, cultural gatherings, destination forums and sector‑shaping conversations.
- Financial & Commercial Management: Ensure programmes are delivered efficiently, effectively and profitably. Develop and manage budgets for existing clients and new business proposals. Complete daily timesheets, support billing, maintain utilisation targets and fully understand client contractual structures.
What You’ll Bring
- A proven track record of leadership, team management and strategic client counsel at Account Director level (or ready to step up).
- Excellent communication skills: persuasive, confident and capable of articulating complex ideas with clarity and impact.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience directing multiple culturally‑focused client portfolios profitably.
- Creativity, curiosity and a solutions‑driven mindset.
- A collaborative spirit, commitment to best‑in‑class delivery and a passion for culture, creativity and placemaking.
