This is an opportunity to join the Foundry design team supporting Griptape and Reactor, a new product initiative that combines emerging AI workflows with Foundry’s world-class expertise in creative and VFX software. Reporting to the Head of Product Design, the Senior Product Designer plays a key role in the production design team. Responsible for contributing to the design effort for your product team, the role is to translate real‑world client requirements into insightful, effective and user‑focused design specifications to ensure the product management team's vision is realised. You will work in a discovery‑led environment where rapid experimentation, vertical‑slice prototypes, and user validation drive the roadmap. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineers, Product Manager and Creative Director to design scalable yet flexible systems that support AI inference, media processing, distributed workloads, timeline‑driven tasks and interactive artist workflows.
UK–Based Candidates
UK–based candidates must be comfortable with flexible working hours to ensure a consistent daily overlap with our San Francisco team (GMT–8) for meetings and collaborative sessions.
Job Requirements
- Degree in User Experience Design or a related field.
- 4+ years of design experience in the technology sector and/or experience in the VFX industry.
- A strong design portfolio displaying interaction design in DCC applications.
- Advanced working knowledge of prototyping tools such as Vibe Code, Cursor AI, and Figma Make.
- Advanced working knowledge of design tools e.g. Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong practical knowledge of compositing and VFX.
- Strong practical knowledge of machine learning and generative AI workflows with tools like ComfyUI, Griptape, Higgsfield, Claude and ChatGPT.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant Foundry Products, such as Nuke and Griptape.
- Knowledge of similar products, e.g., ComfyUI, Figma Weave, Higgsfield, After Effects, Fusion, Resolve, is desirable.
- Specialist skills and knowledge in at least one area of Product Design (UX/UI/Research).
- Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and rationale.
- Must be organised and have an eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritise & manage work to critical project timelines.
- Familiarity with project management tools e.g. TargetProcess or Jira.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
- Ability to work independently & collaboratively.
- Self-confident, flexible & able to find clarity in ambiguous situations.
Job Responsibilities
- Designs, creates and manages a number of workflows for Foundry products and their features.
- Brings multiple user stories together to create a coherent “user voice”, resolving conflicting inputs and competing priorities for their product area/product.
- Owns UX/UI design for key areas or whole products.
- Conducts research for their feature areas and uses it to inform future design needs.
- Mentors and develops others in user-centred design and usability.
- Maintains a collection of useful articles, sites and tools that he/she has collected.
- Works across different product teams to build on their ideas and, where appropriate, adjust designs as technical and workflow constraints arise.
- Crafts an external perception of the company and its products, based on research, and leads others to execute the vision appropriately.
- Runs regular design critiques with fellow product designers to receive and provide feedback on work currently in progress.
- Becomes a subject matter expert and one of the key points of contact for feature sets, Foundry Products and Product Design practices.
- Manages their own time and projects effectively.
