A fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys site-based engineering work, problem solving, and working directly with customers across a variety of environments.

The Role

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, repair, refurbishment and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment including penstocks, valves, actuators and associated systems. Working across multiple customer sites, you’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, repair and commission mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Deliver site works safely and in line with approved RAMS and procedures
  • Diagnose faults and identify replacement component requirements
  • Produce accurate service reports, measurements and documentation
  • Travel daily across your designated region with occasional overnight stays
  • Work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
  • Maintain strong customer relationships on-site
  • Support and guide junior team members when required
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
  • Complete accurate timesheets, reports and expense documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical engineering or field service background
  • Experience working on industrial/mechanical equipment, valves, actuators, pumps or similar systems
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures on customer sites
  • Comfortable working independently and managing workload effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexible to travel regionally and stay away when required
