We are seeking an Area Operations Manager to act as the point person for maintaining and supervising all the inbound/outbound merchandise, inventory management, order processing and the maintenance and organization of back of house and supply areas for 2 stores. Additionally, this role will supervise maintenance and cleaning operations. The Area Operations Manager will oversee a Coordinator and communicate and collaborate with Corporate Office to streamline operational logistics and procedures to ensure an elevated customer experience, appropriate inventory levels, and store ease-of-use.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations across two store locations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to brand standards in all operational processes.
  • Lead and support inventory cycle counts at both stores, using active problem-solving to investigate and resolve discrepancies, including negative on-hands.
  • Monitor and follow up on all open transfers between stores and other locations to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Protect company inventory and assets through rigorous inventory management, timely cycle counts, and resolution of discrepancies across both stores.
  • Maintain accurate and organized vaults in both locations, conducting regular spot checks to ensure proper product storage in vaults and on the floor.
  • Oversee internal inventory movement, including transfers between the two stores, and ensure all systems reflect accurate stock levels.
  • Provide operational support to management and sales staff at both stores with prompt stock checks and floor replenishments as needed.
  • Deliver sales floor support as needed across both stores, including wrapping, client services, hospitality, or other tasks directed by store management.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when needed at either location, handling store open/close procedures, employee timecard approvals, bank deposits, register counts, and team task delegation.
  • Ensure timely communication with both store teams regarding new arrivals, replenishments, and operational updates.
  • Supervise After Sales, Before Sales, and product return processes at both stores, maintaining high standards of customer service and product handling.
  • Identify and resolve store maintenance needs (lighting, cleaning, security) across both stores by working closely with Corporate and external vendors, tracking issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Verify all incoming and outgoing shipments are accurate, ensuring documentation matches shipped/received quantities at both locations.
  • Maintain organized and compliant shipping areas at both stores, ensuring all outgoing merchandise meets brand shipping standards.
  • Manage courier relationships and oversee shipment tracking for both stores, filing claims when necessary.
  • Order and maintain stock of non-merchandise supplies (e.g., packaging, stationery) for both stores, ensuring continuous availability.
  • Oversee client order workflows across both locations, coordinating with Bench Jewelers, managing artwork approvals, prioritising urgent orders, and ensuring seamless product movement for studio work.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external vendors and service partners, ensuring clear communication, accurate tracking, and timely resolution of repairs, alterations, and vendor-held inventory.
  • Oversee quality assurance for incoming merchandise, repairs, and client orders, conducting final checks to ensure all pieces meet FoundRae’s craftsmanship, assembly, and brand standards.
  • Manage end-to-end repair and after-sales workflows across both locations, including intake, documentation, vendor coordination, tracking, and follow-up to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
  • Validate product details, quality, and assembly accuracy before processing orders, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
  • Work closely with sales teams to fulfil and track orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely execution.
  • Administer brand-standard quality checks across both stores, ensuring proper documentation and reporting for all inventory movement and client orders.
  • Track customer repairs and returns using Repair Tracker and oversee completion of unfulfilled or incomplete work orders.
  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by Store Management, ensuring timely execution and collaboration between both stores.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Corporate Operations to align operational procedures across both stores, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Continuously assess operational performance and processes across both stores, proposing and implementing improvements to drive efficiency and elevate the client experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school degree, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in Retail/Operations Management with at least 2 years in management experience.
  • Mac proficient, advanced excel skills and knowledge of design programs a plus.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, highly organised, reporting skills, interest and demonstrated experience in creating and streamlining processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter and multi-tasker.
  • Can work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays ensuring that the store is always fully operational.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate through uncertainty and provide clarity in direction to both self and team.
