About Us

At Founders Pledge, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good with their charitable giving. Since launching in 2015, our community of over 2,200 members has pledged nearly $13B and donated $1.7B+ to the charitable sector in 45+ countries. We provide end-to-end giving infrastructure, pioneering research, and access to a global network of experts. In other words, we help tech leaders become strategic philanthropists. Our members include founders and leaders behind companies such as Airbnb, UiPath, Dropbox, Skype, Spotify, and Uber. We focus on deploying capital where it can achieve the greatest impact, guided by evidence, careful analysis, and long‑term thinking.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Advisor to join our Advising team, guiding and supporting the philanthropy of our core members, non‑member givers, and philanthropic partners. As a Senior Advisor, you will provide these givers with portfolios of grant recommendations that align with their values and priorities, while optimising for the highest‑impact funding opportunities. You will be well‑positioned to influence and inspire CEOs, founders, and investors with significant philanthropic capital to give more and better through your expert advice.

Based in London, you will hold a portfolio of givers primarily based in the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on France, Germany, and the Nordics, and report to our Director, Advising, based on the US West Coast. You will join a global team, working alongside our Membership Experience function.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of members, non‑member donors, and philanthropic partners across the UK and Europe — building trusted relationships, understanding their philanthropic priorities, and guiding their giving toward the highest‑impact opportunities.
  • Advising givers directly on grant recommendations and portfolio design, drawing on Founders Pledge's research to help them maximise the impact of their philanthropy.
  • Representing Founders Pledge and our approach to high‑impact philanthropy at dinners, retreats, webinars, and other events.
  • Designing and delivering learning journeys that deepen givers’ understanding of high‑impact philanthropy and their readiness to act.
  • Creating written materials and communications that bring our advisory service to life and keep givers engaged throughout their advisory journey.
  • Partnering closely with our Member Experience, Research, and Communications teams to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end experience for every giver in your portfolio.
  • Contributing to the craft of advising at Founders Pledge by capturing insights, frameworks, and resources that help our advisory practice scale.

What We’re Looking For

You are energised by the opportunity to shape how significant philanthropic capital gets deployed, and by the craft of helping thoughtful, high‑capacity people give more and give better. You bring a deep curiosity about the philanthropic landscape, the intellectual range to engage seriously with complex research, and the relational instincts to turn that into trusted advice.

Your background might be in philanthropic advising, major gifts, wealth management, or community management. It might equally come from academia, policy, entrepreneurship, or another field where you've advised or influenced people making consequential decisions. We care more about the quality of your judgment, and your ability to build peer‑level relationships with senior givers, than about the specific sector you’re coming from.

To be successful in this role, you will understand the importance of being cause‑neutral in your advisory practice and aligned with our approach to high‑impact philanthropy. You see learning as a lever for better giving, both for the community we serve and for yourself.

Essential:

  • Direct or transferable experience advising individuals on consequential decisions, whether in philanthropy, investments, business, policy, or a related field.
  • The ability to build peer‑level, trusting relationships with senior givers, including founders, CEOs, and investors, and to hold space for productive challenge when their views and yours diverge.
  • Strong ability to absorb complex information quickly and communicate it clearly and persuasively, in writing and in person.
  • A service‑oriented mindset paired with the judgment to shape, rather than simply execute, a giver's philanthropic strategy.
  • Genuine alignment with cause‑neutral, evidence‑informed philanthropy, and an informed view of the philanthropic landscape beyond Founders Pledge.

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing or facilitating learning experiences, whether one‑to‑one, in small groups, or in writing.
  • Business fluency in German and/or French.

Location and Travel Requirements

This is a hybrid role based in London, with at least one day a week in the office to collaborate with our Membership Experience team. You’ll also travel regularly within Europe, particularly to France, Germany, and the Nordics, to meet with givers and attend events in your portfolio’s key regions. You can also expect occasional travel to the US and the UK for team moments, including our annual offsite.

Why Work With Us?

You can find more about the benefits we offer here, but what makes us truly special is our mission and people. We’re a diverse team from charitable and commercial backgrounds who believe amazing things can happen when we tackle problems together. We’re building a learning‑driven advisory environment — one where advisors not only support member journeys but also co‑create the tools, frameworks, and resources that elevate how our community gives.

We are proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer and value diversity at Founders Pledge. We seek people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds, who share our drive to understand and solve complex social challenges. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems requires different perspectives and unique ways of thinking, and we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can do their best work.

If you’re excited about our mission but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
