This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial operations of a flagship event from day one. You’ll oversee all aspects of finance – from reporting and cashflow to budgeting and forecasting – ensuring that the business runs smoothly and is set up for sustainable growth. Working closely with the Founders Forum Group CFO, you’ll provide financial insight and strategic support, partner with stakeholders across the event teams, and help us manage investments in our growing portfolio of startups. With significant scope for development, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to be part of building a world-class platform in the longevity space.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Reporting
    • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including the month- and year-end close processes.
    • Produce quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis and investigation into key drivers.
    • Produce any ad-hoc financial reporting as required for investor purposes.
    • Manage cashflow across the business, ensuring funds are allocated for monthly requirements and overall efficiency is maintained.
    • Establish and implement finance and accounting policies to support existing business activities and growth.
    • Establish and implement processes around customer invoicing, collections tracking, payroll and vendor management.
    • Manage outsourced book-keeping services to the 3rd party provider, ensuring accurate records are kept.
    • Manage the Company’s advisors to ensure timely submission of all legal, tax or statutory matters on a timely basis.
  • Business Partnering & Event Support
    • Work closely with the Operations team to manage event budgets and costs, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Support the Sales team on invoicing and cash collection.
    • Partner with stakeholders across the Longevity Show business and our wider ecosystem of startups and investments.
    • Deliver scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making around revenue streams, investment decisions, and event outcomes.
    • Preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • IT Systems & Data
    • Serve as the key contact for the company’s external IT provider, ensuring efficient service delivery, system reliability, and alignment of technology solutions with business needs.
    • Support procurement of new systems or hardware by evaluating vendors against business and security requirements.
    • Work with business leads to ensure the rollout and integration of new operational and financial tools, ensuring compatibility, user adoption, and effective data flow across all systems.
    • Coordinate system access management processes (onboarding/offboarding, user permissions) in line with company policy.
    • Maintain oversight of data accuracy and consistency across platforms, implementing processes to ensure timely, reliable information for reporting and decision-making.
    • Identify, design, and implement process enhancements and automation initiatives to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
    • Support the design and upkeep of dashboards or automated reports that consolidate key performance and financial data.
    • Maintain the IT budget and cost forecasts, tracking software licenses, renewals, and subscription usage.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with +2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Previous in-house finance experience, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or events-driven organisation.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills; experience with Xero (or similar accounting software).
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to provide clear insights and challenge assumptions.

  • Adaptability & resilience – thrives in a fast-changing environment with competing priorities.
  • Positive, can-do attitude – motivated by impact and excited to help build a global longevity platform.
