We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Investor to support our early-stage investment activities in the health technology sector. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge startups addressing critical healthcare challenges and contribute to shaping our investment pipeline.
Location: UK-based, with 2 days per week minimum in our London office – 180 Strand (flexible remote working for remaining days)
Contract terms: This is a 3-month contract role paid at £6,000 per month.
Start Date: Early February
Your Responsibilities:
- Source and identify high-quality pre-seed to seed stage startups in the health technology space
- Conduct initial screening and analysis of investment opportunities, including market assessment, competitive landscape analysis, and commercial viability evaluation
- Lead due diligence processes on prospective portfolio companies, working closely with technical and clinical advisors as needed
- Prepare investment memos for committee members
- Leverage existing networks to identify promising founders and emerging health tech startups across the UK & EU ecosystem
Experience & Expertise:
Required qualifications, skills and experience:
- Proven experience in venture capital investing, with a track record of evaluating early-stage opportunities
- Strong understanding of the health technology landscape
- Demonstrated ability to source, assess, and conduct due diligence on pre-seed to seed stage startups
- Experience building and presenting investment cases to investment committees or partners
Network & Relationships:
- Established network within the UK health tech startup ecosystem
- Existing relationships with founders, accelerators, universities, or other sources of early-stage deal flow
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Commercial acumen and understanding of startup business models
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in life sciences, healthcare, or related technical field
- Experience working with or advising healthcare startups
- Proven experience in venture capital investing, with a track record of evaluating early-stage opportunities
- Knowledge of the UK/EU health tech funding landscape and key ecosystem players
- Familiarity with regulatory considerations in digital health and medical devices
