A growing in-house technology function is hiring a Test Analyst to join an established QA team working across a varied portfolio of business and customer-facing applications. The team has invested in proper test tooling, an Azure DevOps backbone and a pragmatic mix of manual and automated approaches, and is now scaling up. This is a hands-on role for someone with around five years of solid testing experience who enjoys getting into the detail of complex business systems.
You'll work across functional, integration, system, regression, UAT and pre-production testing, partnering with developers, BAs and project teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Analysing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to design test scenarios and cases
- Executing manual and automated tests across multiple environments
- Working with Postman for integration testing and SQL/Power BI for data testing
- Managing test data and tracking defects through to resolution in Azure DevOps
- Producing test plans, test cases, defect reports and test summary reports
- Supporting UAT and pre-production cycles
- Contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement
What you'll bring:
- Around 5 years' hands-on test analyst experience in a software development environment
- Strong manual testing capability with practical exposure to automation
- Azure DevOps for test management
- Postman for integration testing
- SQL for data validation, Power BI a plus
- Exposure to cross-platform/browser testing tools (LambdaTest, BrowserStack, Selenium, Cypress, or similar)
- Defect management discipline and clear test documentation
- Comfortable working in an environment that mixes Agile and waterfall delivery
Nice to have:
- Experience testing housing management or local authority systems (NEC Northgate, Civica, Capita, etc.)
- Experience contributing to integration or regression automation projects
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics testing
