We're working exclusively with one of England's largest not-for-profit organisations — a mission-driven business operating across nearly 1,700 locations nationwide, delivering specialist housing and care services at significant scale. Their technology function is central to everything they do, and this role sits at the heart of an ambitious IT transformation programme.
This isn't a BAU support role. As Azure Cloud Engineer you'll own cloud solutions from design through to delivery and handover, working alongside architects, project managers, and delivery teams to mature a hybrid cloud capability that genuinely matters.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and delivering Azure cloud infrastructure solutions that are secure, resilient, and built for a regulated, multisite environment.
- Contributing to cloud architecture and platform design, producing and reviewing technical designs.
- Leading and contributing to cloud projects, migrations, and platform modernisation initiatives.
- Building infrastructure using IaC and automation-first approaches — Bicep and Terraform in particular.
- Designing hybrid connectivity and integration patterns including VPN, ExpressRoute, routing, and network segmentation.
- Supporting hybrid identity and access design across Entra ID and Active Directory.
- Ensuring every solution is built for operability — monitoring, logging, documentation, and clean handover baked in from the start.
What you'll need:
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering Azure cloud infrastructure — not just maintaining it.
- Strong understanding of Azure architecture, networking, Entra ID, and core platform services.
- Solid working knowledge of on-premise infrastructure — Active Directory, DNS, Windows Server, and enterprise hosting patterns.
- Proven experience in hybrid environments where cloud and on-prem coexist.
- A secure-by-design mindset with the ability to produce clear technical designs and documentation.
- Azure Administrator Associate certification as a minimum — Solutions Architect or Network Engineer certifications are a strong advantage.
- IaC experience with Bicep or Terraform, CI/CD pipeline familiarity, and exposure to regulated environments such as care, housing, or public sector are all advantageous.
What's on offer:
- Circa £60k salary with flexibility beyond that for the right candidate.
- Hybrid working with 1/2 days per week in Leeds.
- A genuinely mission-driven organisation with long-term stability, a growing technology function, and real opportunity to shape how the platform develops.
