A purpose-led, not-for-profit organisation is building out a brand-new in-house engineering function and needs a senior Power Platform Application Engineer to help lead it. This is a build-it-up role, not a maintain-what-exists one. The platform is early-stage and you'd be one of two Power Platform engineers, taking the senior seat: owning the platform end to end, mentoring a junior, and shaping the way the team works as it matures. If you want real ownership and the chance to put your stamp on how things are done, it is.

What you'd be doing:

  • End-to-end build and configuration across Dynamics 365 and Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven)
  • Dataverse modelling from the ground up: tables, relationships, security roles, business rules
  • Power Automate cloud flows for business process automation
  • Source-controlled delivery through Git or Azure DevOps, using managed solutions across Dev/Test/Prod pipelines
  • Lighter integration-adjacent work: custom connectors, Web API exchanges, Power Pages where relevant

What we're after:

  • Genuine hands-on Power Platform depth, ideally built in-house rather than purely consultancy-side
  • Strong Dataverse data modelling from scratch
  • Solid ALM discipline: managed solutions, source control, structured deployment pipelines
  • Comfort imposing structure in a low-maturity environment, not just operating where it already exists
  • Bonus: experience in a regulated or public sector setting

If you're a Power Platform engineer who wants ownership rather than maintenance, apply and let's talk.

How to prepare for a job interview at Founderr

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Founderr uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
