Casual Marina Operative – Marina Developments Ltd is the UK’s leading marina operator with several marinas situated at idyllic locations. We are looking to engage 2 casual workers to support our team on an ad hoc basis at Shamrock Quay Marina. This role will be a no-fixed hours casual worker contract. The Casual Marina Operative will assist the team from time to time, supporting the site with various tasks and shifts that require casual resource.

Typically, casual work assigned to you will be based at Shamrock Quay Marina, Southampton. There may also be the opportunity to work at one of our other sites within the region.

The Role Will Include But Not Limited To:

  • Provide a meet and greet service to all members and visitors
  • Overseeing the berthing allocations of vessels
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks as required
  • Ensure the telephone is answered in the correct and timely manner
  • Ensure all customer enquiries are dealt with both promptly and efficiently
  • Assist in actively marketing and promoting the marina and associated services
  • Maintain the security of the site
  • Carry out all duties in line with Company policies, particularly focused on compliance with H&S and Customer Service standards

Key requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and friendly with a flexible and positive can-do attitude
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment (in a leisure/marina/hospitality industry an advantage)
  • General maintenance skills (not essential but an advantage)
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Sound awareness of basic health and safety in the workplace
  • Confident use of IT systems
  • A practical, resourceful and common-sense approach
  • Good practical boating skills/qualifications (not essential but an advantage)
  • Competent swimmer (essential)
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
