We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the UK Safety+ and Retail & Leisure Operations teams in delivering high-quality health and safety advice, assurance, and auditing services across a large and diverse retail and leisure property portfolio. The role covers approximately 130 sites nationwide and requires significant travel across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, best practice, and continuous improvement across this portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical health and safety advice to internal teams, managing agents, and clients across the retail and leisure portfolio.
- Carry out health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across c.130 sites nationwide.
- Support operational teams in the implementation and monitoring of health and safety management systems.
- Advise on compliance with relevant legislation including HSWA, CDM, fire safety, contractor management, and risk management.
- Review incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing investigation support and corrective action plans.
- Support the development and delivery of health and safety training and guidance.
- Work closely with stakeholders including property managers, retailers, contractors, and clients to promote a strong safety culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and portfolio-wide safety strategies.
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within retail, leisure, property, or a multi-site environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Comfortable managing a large, geographically dispersed portfolio with extensive travel.
- Experience delivering audits, inspections, and advisory services.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
- Membership of IOSH (or working towards).
