You’ll be joining a lean, close-knit development team that builds and maintains a suite of ecommerce websites generating serious revenue across both B2B and B2C channels. The team works on a proprietary in-house platform, allowing you to engage with something genuinely interesting.

The role involves working alongside Tom, who has led the team for over a decade. You will take real ownership and help build a proper structure underneath both of you. Roughly 50 to 60% of your time will be spent on development work, hands-on, full stack, across database, back-end services, APIs, and front-end. The remainder will involve project coordination, mentoring junior developers, and assisting Tom in focusing on the bigger picture.

This is a supervisory role as much as a technical one, with production access from day one. Java experience would be advantageous, though not mandatory, as training support will be provided if needed. The team does not use PHP or MySQL.

They are looking for someone with three to five years of professional development experience, ideally in both B2B and B2C environments. The ideal candidate should have made early mistakes elsewhere and is now ready to be the experienced person in the room. Attitude is as important as the CV; curiosity, willingness to get involved, and the ability to think things through end to end are key traits.

The office is located in Normanton, West Yorkshire, with an expectation of four days a week in the office for the right candidate, although there is flexibility for the right person. Remote-only work will not be considered. The salary is up to £50,000, with immediate availability preferred, though a short notice period will not disqualify you.

If this sounds like the kind of role where you’d thrive rather than just pass through, get in touch.
